Hi there,

We are busy upgrading our 400+ workstations to XP SP3.
Currently we're on SP2 level and connection to an application TS cluster
running W2K3 SP1. After upgrading the clients to XP SP3 (which use hardcoded
username and password) we receive the warning: "Remote Desktop cannot verify
the identity of the computer you want to connect to…”
Is there a way to bypass this using eg. a group policy instead of adding
“enablecredsspsupport:i:0” to each RDP-file ?

Thanks for your input !

Re: XP SP3 to W2K3 cluster:Connection Authentication with ADM

There is a group policy "Configure server authentication for client" under
"Remote Desktop Connection Client" setting in Vista SP1 and up. But since
you are using XP, the policy will be not there. But you can directly set the
registry key for that policy on XP and the client should pick it up.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Terminal Services
Value: AuthenticationLevel
Type: DWORD
Set this to "0" to not receive this prompt.
