I have 3 identical servers used as file servers, 2003 R2 SP2. On two servers,
FSRM reports correctly, etc. On the third server, when I click on reports
management to run a reports, I ge "An unexpected error has occurred. Plese
check the application events log for more information.:

When I check the log, it fives me an error with EventID 0, Source: FSRM, and
the following:
"An unexpected error occurred in the File Server Resource Manager MMC
snap-in at Microsoft.Storage.SrmMmc.StorageTaskDataCache.Enumerate
(RemoteManager.remoteManager, SrmDataCacheEnumEventHandler EventHandler,
Int32 BatchSize)
at
Microsoft.Storage.SrmMmc.StrorageTasksDisplayArea.EnumerateItemsIntoListView()
Value does not fall within the expected range.
at Microsoft.Stoage.SrmMmc.ISrmReportManger.get_Reports()
at Microsoft.Storage.SrmMmc.ReportTask.EnumReportTasks
(RemoteManager.reportManager)

I've followed the link to the Support Center from theEvent Properties
window, and I get this:

Results for: Microsoft product: .NET Framework; Version: 2.0.50727.1433; ID:
0; Event Source: FSRM; File name: EventLogMessages.dll;

No results were found for your query. Please see Search Help for suggestions.

Does anyone have any idea what is causing this? I've already run chkdsk on
both volumes C and E to clear any corruptions out of the equation. I've
un-installed, re-booted, and re-installed FSRM several times with the same
problems occurring.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hi Andy,

Can you take a look at
http://www.otgnet.com/Content/Default.aspx?Cat=Windows2003,Title=7974 and
see if it helps?

Re: FSRM Reports error

Thanks...I went to that site, and it had some helpful ideas. What I ended up
doing was:
1) Deleting the SRM folder under System Volume Information
2) Deleting the Storage Reports folder
3) Removing FSRM
4) Reboting the server
5) Re-installing FSRM
6) Re-booting the server

I've tested it, and it seems to be running fine now. Thanks for the lead!

Regards,

Andy
