Hello,
we are using Remote Desktop frequently for remote server administration. All
servers are running 2003 STD SP2 EN. Yesterday a colleague wanted to restart
the server. It seems that it did not really restart, since the log does not
contain the typical 3 Event-log messages. But today the server is not
excepting remote desktop connections anymore.
The Terminal Service is running and cannot be restarted (as by Microsoft
design). In TSAdmin there is no rdp-listener anymore. I have already tried to
disable and enable the rdp-Connection in TSCC.msc. That was no problem but I
still don't have an rdp listener. Running QWinsta.exe from the command line
only shows "console".
We have had this problem before and I know that after the next reboot
everything will probably be ok. But is there anyway to start the listener
without rebooting the server? Less downtime will make our users less grumbly
;-)
Any help or hint would be greatly appreciated!
Regards
