I have some files of music that I can't play because I originated them in Real
Player, which I don't have anymore. (I only have Windows Media Player). I also have
music that has the extension .rax. Can I change that to open with the Windows Media
Player? Please give specific directions.
I have Windows 98se with 4GB left, on Dell xps t450. I would rather not download any
new player, especially not Real Player. Thanks.

Re: play music

Probably not. The Real format is pretty proprietary. If you really want
them, either find a good converter program (through Google), OR install some
version of Real or Real Player Alternative.

Re: play music

It is probably easier to get a program like Limewire and download the songs
again in a format supported by WMP. A word of caution--if you use Limewire,
watch the file sizes and types as many virus files are out there. I also
scan each downloaded file with my AV program before using it.

Re: play music

Thank you all. I finally downloaded Real Player, and it is not hurting my system as
yet.
