Can i take it that the file ie6sp1.zip is a fully
updated one?
It contains 61 files whereas the MS has the
83 files of 77.9 MB size. The ie6setup.exe
version was 6.0.2800.1106.

Re: IE6_SP1 Version Gary S. Terhune

I haven't checked but it is quite possible that Gary chose to omit the
many optional language files from his zip. My copy of IE6 SP1
(6.0.2800.1106) has just 43 files, is 22.8MB and contains none of the
various optional language files.

I have no idea as to whether Gary has included the various hotfixes for
IE6 SP1 in his zip file. IE6 SP1 was released in Feb 2003. Support for
the version in Win Me stopped in June/July 2006 which was over three years
later.

O.J.:

Mike is probably right in his thinking, but why not ask Gary himself?
I have his CDs', but can't tell you off-hand what you'd want to know.
What exactly would I be looking for?

Harry.

RE: IE6_SP1 Version Gary S. Terhune

Microsoft part # for the disc is X08 90555. It will require one 1.1MB update
available from Live Update even though ME is no longer supported, all old
updates are available.

Re: IE6_SP1 Version Gary S. Terhune

The Windows Update site continues, for the time being, to support Win Me
with all released patches still available including the full IE6 SP1.
