In Win 2003 server, we can freely share a redirected printer with a different
name, or change security permissions after RDP client connection.
However, in Win 2008 server, this privilege is gone. The share buttons and
security permission settings are all greyed out. A work around is to take
ownship of the printer and the desired sharing function or security
permission setting function come back for that session. After log off and log
back on again, the "greyed out" state comes back. The account for logging on
is already the local administrator, but that doesn't help. Before taking over
ownership, only the "SYSTEM" group has all printer management rights.
Please help on how to restore the Win 2008 server to have the same
convenience of sharing and permission setting functionalities as in Win 2003
server. Thanks.

Unfortunately this is by design for security reasons and there is no work
around unless you log in as the built in administrator.
