I am seeing an error in my application event viewer of "Windows cannot access
the file gpt.ini for GPO
CN={31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9},CN=Policies,CN=System,DC=SIHF,DC=ORG.
The file must be present at the location
<\\SIHF.ORG\sysvol\SIHF.ORG\Policies\{31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9}\gpt.ini>.
(The system cannot find the path specified. ). Group Policy processing
aborted." I have tried some of the MS fixes but nothing was wrong with the
registry settings. Any ideas?

Re: Event Viewer error

Hello sihfmis,

Please post the complete event viewer entry. Additional check that DNS is
poiting only to your domain internal DNS servers, NO externals like your
ISP's DNS.

Re: Event Viewer error

How do I check the posting? Where do I check? I was wondering about that
too but did not know where to look. Thanks for any direction.

Re: Event Viewer error

Hello sihfmis,

I assume you have 2000/2003, then open the event with a double click and
press the 2 paper button in the right corner, after that just paste it into
the posting.

Best regards
