Hi
It is not very common, but I make very good experiences using Windows Server
2008 as my Workstation OS - after installing desktop features (Media Player,
Windows Mail, ...).
But I have two little details, to fix:
1. Beside Media Player, "Windows Live Messenger Download" Icon is installed
during desktop features installation; so everyone can install the program, if
needed. Unfortunately this messenger app cannot be installed in this Server
OS (error message). How can I still install it? Is there a possibility to
temporary switch a specific registry entry, that Windows Live Messenger will
"think" to install the program on Vista or XP? Which is this reg-entry? Or is
there a better way to force installation?
2. It is a good thing to change the view of images in the file-explorer:
Zooming in from the "Detail view" to a bigger size, Vista would show us the
real picture in thumb nail size. Windows Server 2008 seems not to be able to
show the real content of pictures in preview mode, even this feature would
not only be good for me, but also on picture-file-servers browsing in a big
amount of images.
Is there a way to activate this "preview mode" for pictures in the
file-explorer?
Thanks a lot for your hint.
