| Thanx, this will take sometime. Inertially afflicted as I am with

Okay, as you have now indicated older files from other printers, make sure
to clean them up as well. You MAY find them listed in the INF\OTHER folder
as well.
Any *branded* software [device specific] may need removed also.
IF you have difficulties, you can try this:
Open the INFs found related to these printers and failed installations in a
text editor and look for the files and registry settings which were
used/installed for that device. Carefully remove/move those files and
registry settings [export prior to removal] to a temporary folder and watch
for errors occurring. IF no errors after a few days or a week of regular
usage, you can likely delete them. DO NOT remove files related to standard
Windows files [like mfc**, com**, odb**, ole**, std**, sti**, etc.], other
files should/must be checked by at least using Properties [or preferably
File Investigator, FileAlyzer, or some other like tool] *prior* to removal
and/or deletion.
Any questions or doubts on whether a file or registry setting is safe to
delete should be checked on the NET or in here.
