Hello,

How can I change the desktop wallpaper on the logon screen that appears when
connecting to a terminal server? By default, it is grey and makes the
desktop wallpaper on the console logon screen grey, too.

First, make sure the image is in 24-bit BMP format and is stored in the
common wallpaper directory "/WinNT/Web/Wallpaper/logon.bmp".
"/WinNT/logon.bmp" is fine too.

Setup this wallpaper in your profile as it should look. (Tiled, Streched,
....)

Open the registry editor and copy the three values "Wallpaper",
"WallpaperStyle" and "TileWallpaper" from "HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Control
Panel/Desktop" (your profile) to the same values in the key
"HKEY_USERS/.DEFAULT/Control Panel/Desktop" (System Profile).

Logoff and logon /wo username so the logon prompt is shown.

You did set the RDP-experiences, that wallpaper is enabled?

Yes, I did. Maybe I should approach the problem from another direction: is
there a way to change the background color of the console logon screen?

I'm wondering, because it is working over here ! ??? (2003 Std. R2)

System profile colors are at "HKEY_USERS/.DEFAULT/Control Panel/Colors".
Your profile colors are at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Control Panel/Colors", same
thing. There
must be the value "Background". The three intergers are the color components
in "REG GREEN BLUE" from 0-255.

Obviously, the "Background" value is what I was looking for: setting it to
"0 0 0" changed the wallpaper from grey to black. Thanks.
Oh, is this documented somewhere?
