Windows Vista How can I establish what causes program freezes in Vista?

Under "Problem Reports and Solutions" I have dozens of entries for both
Outlook 2007 and my Opera browser going back over about 18 months. The two
programs freeze frequently and need to be closed down manually - I would
hasten to add that they have never frozen simultaneously.

My actions prior to any of the freezes is really quite trivial; I have
either opened an email, clicked on a news item, opened a link, looked up a
calendar item etc. On every occasion a report is sent to Microsoft
automatically but to date I have received nothing in return identifying the
cause of the problem or offering a solution.

I have examined all of the information produced by Vista but cannot discover
what is causing the "freeze" problem so I am now looking for any software
that can log what is happening and can provide me with more detail about
what might be causing this problem. Can anyone please offer any
suggestions?

See Help, 'Event Viewer'

Re: How can I establish what causes program freezes in Vista?

Thank you for your response.

Unfortunately the Event Viewer simply states the obvious (i.e. Outlook.exe
stopped interacting with windows and was closed) and refers me to Problem
Reports and Solutions control panel which I have explained already tells me
nothing.

I continue to live in hope that I can find some way of establishing WHY
Outlook.exe stopped interacting with windows?
