Everybody in the office has a drive mapping of \\server\share

On this share is a sub-directory of s:\photos

People need to have full rights to s:\ and they need full rights to all of
the sub-folders from s:\photos but within s:\photos I want to prevent them
from being able to create sub-folders or writing/editing any files in that
directory?

How do I set the permissions to skip this one specific folder in the tree
and still allow all of the permissions from s:\ to be inherited by
s:\photos\whatever?

Re: permissions question on server 2003

Turn off inheritence on that folder.
You will have the option to Copy or Remove the NTFS Security, pick which
works best and then clean up and adjust the NTFS Security.

Actually forget my first post. I assumed the other folders were not under
"photos".
Basically you are screwed. You need Photos to be a lower folder not a
top-of-the-tree folder. The way you have it now you would have to turn off
inheritance on all of the folders under Photo and then manually edit the
permissions on all of them one at a time. The only good thing would be
folders that are under them the next level down because they could keep the
inheritance.

I am not the solution I am giving you is the right what you required but I suggest you to try. RIght click on the folder and in security remove the user's ID's other than Administrator and also remove system user ....It will prevent the user to access other than Adminisrator profile and rights.
