I am not sure if this is where i need to place this question, if it is not
the correct place can someone point me in the right direction so that i can
place it in the correct forum. Thanks!

issue:
i have a user that is located at a different location (different office,
different state, on a different domain) that connects to my office (different
domain) through Remote Desktop to my Terminal Server where he can access my
other servers. At one point my user had a shortcut on his Local computer to
a folder on one of my servers. he has since had his local computer replaced
and the shortcut is no longer there. i was not the one who set up the
shortcut on his local desktop so i do not know what needs to be done so that
he can get this shortcut back.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Re: ShortCut to a folder on a different domain through TS.

hmmm, that sounds odd. The only way I can think of doing that off the top
of my head is to create an RDP file for that user and in the Programs area
specify explorer.exe as the program to run with the appropriate switches to
show the particular folder he was trying to access.

I would dig into this more as this would be somewhat out of the ordinary
for terminal services to do as TS has no way of creating such a shortcut
directly to your internal terminal services.

now saying that, unless you've specifically locked out your firewall
properly, you potentially could be allowing direct traffic to your internal
network and they figured out a way to take advantage of that and map
directly to your servers. Are your servers directly exposed to the internet
or do the remote users need to vpn in first?
