Re: Is there a deeply embeded memory leak in Vista?

More then a year has passed, and only since yesterday (July 3rd, 2008) I
have found a solution for the memory leak problem. The explorer.exe
memory along with other system memory resources will be given back,
after I use a tiny util called SweepRAM. It is only 6kb (!!) in size,
and can be downloaded from 'SweepRAM | Computers are fun, right?'
(http://88.191.26.34/computers_are_fun/sweepram/) . Don't forget to
download VB6FR.DLL and place it in your \system32 directory, because the
util use this Frence localized DLL (my Vista is US-EN localised). When
memory shrinks too badly, just use it, and all the hidden claimed RAM
will be given back to the OS. Finally I don't have to reboot anymore
after heavy Vista-activity. I hope with this solution I will be of any
assistance to other users who might have similar memory-leak problems.
Goodbye ! Regards, Albert.

The solution would be to remove the offending program, not to force cached
items from memory. In addition to the things you don't want, those memory
cleaning programs also force out things you *do* want and the operating
system must waste time and resources reloading them each time. Memory
"leaks" aren't really leaks at all, they are from badly coded software that
does not release memory when it should or when directed to.
