Hi,

Does anyone know of any issues in adding a 2000 server to a 2003 (R2)
domain - as a domain controller or plain file server.

I looked about but not much on this.

Thanks.

Well, the 2000 servers will not support 2003 or R2 additions and features,
especially if the domain's Functional levels have already been bumped up. As
for member servers, not problems.

What are your intentions with the servers, if I may ask?

Re: Adding 2000 server to 2003 Domain

Hello aus,

When your forest/domain functional level is set to server 2003, you can not
join it as a domain controller, only as a file server. Additional the 2003
or r2 tools are not supported on it.
