Backup software

Any Arcserve v11 experts out there? I am running CA Arcserve v11 on a
windows server 2003 environment and I get a crashed backup every single time,
no error messages. I have reinstalled the software and checked all the
services. Anyone has any idea?

any event log entry ?
are you backing up on tape or virtual disk ?

Can you start a backup while in front of ?

The application log on event viewer says: "Failed to detect a Portmapper
service running on this machine. Can not initialize the BrightStor Service
with program number 395647, Retry count>1". I am backing up to a tape.

Yes it is and I have restarted the server a few times which restart all the
services.
