Re: Hugh - Nero 8.3.6.0 update today!

Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Files
(x86)\Nero\Nero8\Nero Toolkit\DiscSpeed.exe".Error in manifest or policy
file "" on line . A component version required by the application conflicts
with another component version already active. Conflicting components are:.
Component 1:
C:\Windows\WinSxS\manifests\amd64_microsoft.windows.common-controls_6595b64144ccf1df_6.0.6001.18000_none_152e7382f3bd50c6.manifest.
Component 2:
C:\Windows\WinSxS\manifests\x86_microsoft.windows.common-controls_6595b64144ccf1df_6.0.6001.18000_none_5cdbaa5a083979cc.manifest.

seems like errors are still present.

Re: Hugh - Nero 8.3.6.0 update today!

Thanks for your feedback, Hugh.
Sorry they didn't fix it yet. I guess we can live with it since it seems to
be harmless.

Re: Hugh - Nero 8.3.6.0 update today!

I would suspect you either have a conflict on your system or
you have one or more corrupted files. I just downloaded and
installed the 8.3.6.0 update on my Vista x64 w/SP1 system
and ran DiscSpeed.exe without any errors at all. The
program ran the full disc check.

Re: Hugh - Nero 8.3.6.0 update today!

Bobby,
Hugh and I are not talking about "visible" errors.
Nero apps perform flawlessly. It is just those "SideBySide" errors in Event
Viewer.
We have long investigated this issue with no results, it is something that
is related to the VC++ libraries.
And it is not fixed by clean install, newer versions, etc.
:)

Re: Hugh - Nero 8.3.6.0 update today!

Okay. I forgot about your previous posts on this. However,
it apparently isn't peculiar to either Nero or Vista. A
quick Google gave me references going back over 2 years with
over 500 links.
