We just installed Admin tools for Windows 2003 server on Windows Vista
Business computer. In Windows XP, you can hold down the SHIFT key and right
mouse button on Active Directory for Users and Computers and then select Run
As. Then, the pop-up window is displayed so you can put in the user name
and password. However, in Windows Vista, when I hold down the SHIFT key
and the right mouse button and select Run As, it opens Active Directory for
Users and Computers. Am I not doing something correctly? Is there a way to
run Active Directory for Users and Computers under a different user like
Windows XP?

Thanks.

Re: Run As

Diane,
You can do one of three things:
- Change the UAC to prompt for credentials
- Use Runas.exe to fire up whatever you are doing
- Use Sysinternals ShellRunas:

Re: Run As

Hello Diane,

Even if the adminpak is installable at Vista, it doesn't run complete.

Download and install RSAT:

RSAT 32bit:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...97-23CE-4A36-B7FC-D52065DE9960&displaylang=en

RSAT 64bit:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...0B-63FD-4AC5-9243-BD3C497D2BC5&displaylang=en

Then open Control Panele, Programs and features, Turn windows features on
or off, check the tools you like under "Remote Server Administration Tools"

Use runas.exe to choose another account.

Best regards
