Re: Cannot access explorer view of sharepoint doc library
We had the same problem, worked with XP not Vista. Tried all sorts of
things, finally called Microsoft and this is what worked for us
Thank you very much for the data. I have analyzed them and I think the
problem with access web folders on Vista could be related to the lack of
root site collection.
There must be a root level site collection inorder for ExplorerView to
work. For example, if there is only a site collection at
'_http://server/sites/sitecollection_'
(http://server/sites/sitecollection), without a site at
'_http://server_' (http://server/) , ExplorerView does not function as
desired.
Your site is created at '_http://sername/sites/sitename/default.aspx_'
(http://sername/sites/sitename/default.aspx). Could you please check if
you have root site collection?
If not, please try to create it following these steps:
1) Open the Central Admin
2) Click Application Management, then click Create Site Collection
within the SharePoint Site Management section
3) Choose the proper web application in the drop down menu
4) Enter a title and description
5) In the URL section, verify the drop down only contains a '/'.
6) Choose a template, enter the Site Collection Administrators and
press OK
7) Test explorer view again
