Briefly, I bought Win95 CD and found I got the final release (OEM
Service Release 2.5). I thought that was useful - to get the final
release.
I'd like to buy Win98. When looking on places like ebay, how can I
tell which is the final version - by squinting at the blurry photos
sellers upload?
It's interesting - reading wikipedia they say win95 had quite a few
releases, but win98 only had 2. Is this correct?!
Also, does Win98 (SE version) greatly benefit from applying MS
patches, strictly in terms of stability or useful additional
functionality, and not in terms of security. (I am not interested in
applying security patches to Win98 because I'll never connect this
retro machine to the net.)
Thanks a lot for any advice.
