I have a Windows 2003 standard server that runs our internal company program.
The program is configured to use the servers email system. There is not
exchange on the server just smtp for sending and I'm not sure what is
configured for receiving. I have talked with support for the program and
they informed me that you just point the mx record to the ip of the server
and it will receive email. This doesn't make any sense to me. How does it
route to email boxes and such? I thought maybe it was a pop service but I
checked add/remove programs and pop is not installed either. Can anyone
point me in the right direction? Thanks
