USB HDD not seen by explorer.

I'm fairly confident the Maxtor external HDD has been used previously on the
W2003 server - but not 100%.

Device manager knows it's there but Explorer does not see it.
The file system is NTFS (I put it on another PC - XP pro).

What does the Disk Manager report?

It knows it's there, no Volume name, 146GB, 100% free.
(maybe I have not used it on the Server but dragged files onto it from the
server to when it was attached to my XP PC)

My XP PC is NTFS and the USB HDD is NTFS.

Does it have to be formated by 2003 before 2003 'sees' the data.

RE: USB HDD not seen by explorer.

Just went to Maxtor (Seagate owned now) forum.

It appears the Maxtor III not supported on W2003.
