Error 66E updating Vista with SQL Server

I keep getting Update failed Error 66E when attempting update of Vista with:
Security Update for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2 (KB948109)

SQL Server, SQL Server active directory helper, sql server browser and Sql
server VSS writer are all set to automatic sartup

I can't even find what 66E means and MS support were totally useless
recommending I try the forums - any ideas gratefully received

Do a web search for the decimal equivalent of that hex code.
Refine your search with terms such as SQL Update MSFT verbose
(for example) as needed to reduce the number of hits to some
which probably have some amount of detail in them. Typically you
will find discussions on forums.microsoft.com that way.

BTW when MS recommended "try the forums" did they specifically
suggest you try the WU newsgroup? Better choices IMO would be where
SQL users are likely to convene. Cross-posting to SQL Server Setup
for an alternate newsgroup possibility for you.
