I also need help, as I am getting this error code, but I am especially
confused because I am not trying to run any outside software. I am just
trying to restore back-up files on an external hard drive. I am working on
the computer they come from, but it had a catastrophic failure and the hard
drive was scrapped. I am trying to restore my content, and I keep getting
this error message. Ideas?

0x80070057 translates to ERROR_INVALID_PARAMENTER - E_INVALIDARG

What OS are you running?
