Going back to the Windows NT days, we used to run Service pack install again
anytime you install a windows component.

So if I install server 2003 R2 and download and install all critical
updates, and later decide I need to install terminal services or other
windows components/applications, should I run Service Pack 2 again and then
critical updates again? I guess it couldn't hurt but I would like to know if
that is still necessary or did the service pack replace all the component
install files which have been changed? Seems the latter is not possible but
I am not sure.

Thanks!

Hello just,

No, during installation of new features or roles, it will directly ask for
the needed SP or installation disk.
