I have a problem setting my e-mail default program to Turnpike on Vista
ultimate 64 bit.

Turnpike is set as my e-mail link in customize start menu. I have tried
running the program default setup, but I can't find turnpike in the list
of available programs. I reply yes to set turnpike as default e-mail,
news and address book as turnpike starts but every time I open turnpike
I have to reset it as default.

I have tried setting turnpike up in default programs but it is not
listed and I can't find away to add it to the list of programs.

Any help would be appreciated.

Do you know where Turnpike keeps its settings? Vista imposes strict
security as to where programs can write data so Turnpike may be failing
(silently) to write the information.

That's an amazing invention but who would ever want to use one of them?

Re: Set default problem

it's because Turnpike is a 32 bit program. try defaultmail -
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/defaultmail.htm

you will probably need to reset every time you download an Office
update or Service Pack, etc.

I have an idea where to find it, I'll see what I can do there. Thanks

Thanks Barb, if all else fails I'll give that a try.

Thanks for the help, it looks like the problem is with Turnpike. In the
end the cure was to tell Turnpike not to ask if I wanted it to be
default again. Problem masked if not cured, as I will probably have a
problem when windows or office updates.
