I'm trying to set up a backup strategy in a small business environment and
feel that virtual machine may be the way to go but am having a heck of a hard
time tying together new hardware, OSs, possible virtual environment etc.

There are newsgroups for VPC and virtual server

microsoft .public.virtualpc
microsoft.public.virtualserver

The only newsgroup for hyper-v is in German (and has just started and has
very little content).

microsoft.public.de.hyper-v

There is a technet forum for hyper-v

http://forums.technet.microsoft.com/en-US/winserverhyperv/threads/

Thanks Bill.

Is 'microsoft.public.virtualserver' part of
'http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups' which is what I'm using for
this forum.

I suspect there are many ways to access these forums.

Re: Is there a special forum for Virtual Server, Hyper-V, etc

The best way is to set up your newsreader. Using the Web interface is a very agonizing and awful way of accessing these and other newsgroups.
I am presuming that you have OE installed. So set that up for a newsreader

Re: Is there a special forum for Virtual Server, Hyper-V, etc

Hello ThomasAJ,

If you only use IE, then choose this link:
http://www.microsoft.com/communitie...efault.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.virtualserver

But at least i recommend a newsreader, either Outlook Express or another
freeware newssreader, where you can choose the NG's in the format microsoft.public.virtualserver.

Best regards
