Could someone help me? I am a computer student. I have a poweredge 350. It is
1 Ghz with 256 MB RAM. Currently it has no operating system. When I try to
load windows 2003 server standard edition, I goes fine until I get to the
Welcome to Windows Setup screen. This is the screen with the options to start
windows setup, to repair with recovery console or to exit windows setup.
After about 5 seconds the computer shuts down. I tried replacing the hard
drive 20 GB with a known good one 160 GB and I received the same result. When
I don't load an Operating system disc, the system will go through BIOS and
stay on (for at least the half of an hour I tested it). For that reason, I
don't think it is a overheating problem or a power supply problem. I also
tested the voltage of the jacks coming out of it and they were within specs.

Try this:

Go into the server's BIOS (typically F1 or DEL at POST) and disable
the virus scanner.
