When my computer boots up, this folder now appears on the screen when windows
loads up.This just started within the past day or so. Ran virus scan, did not
detect anything. Ran spyware, did not detect anything.

RE: microsoft.net\primary interop assemblies folder opens upon startup

Try this:
Start > Run,type "Control Folders", without the quotes > View tab > Advanced
Settings > Uncheck "Restore previous folder windows at logon".

That is not checked at the moment. Thank you though.

Re: microsoft.net\primary interop assemblies folder opens upon startup

This is caused if one of the startup entries are not formatted correctly in
the registry.

Download Startup Tracker application from this page:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_starttrack.htm

Launch the program, and click the "View log" button. Post the contents of
the log file here.

Re: microsoft.net\primary interop assemblies folder opens upon sta

Ramesh:

I'm having the same problem -- it started right after I installed SP3 for
XP. Here's my log. I'm assuming it's the MoneyAgent entry under
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run but I don't
know how to fix it.

Thanks.

Click Start, Run. Type MSCONFIG and press ENTER:

In the Startup tab, disable the following entry:

"MoneyAgent"

Click OK.

Re: microsoft.net\primary interop assemblies folder opens upon sta

Hi, Ramesh.

Thanks for the reply and the suggestion. Checked the Startup tab and there
is no "MoneyAgent" entry. So I disabled the closest thing there -- the
"mnyexpr" entry, which does affect Money -- but Windows didn't like that at
all and I had to re-enable it. I'll keep poking around, but if you have
another tip that might work, let me know. Maybe I should have stuck with XP
SP2... <g>

Best,
Tom

Re: microsoft.net\primary interop assemblies folder opens upon sta

Re: microsoft.net\primary interop assemblies folder opens upon sta

Hi, Ramesh--

The file folder did not appear on startup -- but I got a message saying that
because I'd made changes to the system configuration, Windows was running in
diagnostic mode, and I should change the config from diagnostic to "Normal."
I clicked OK, and the System Config window appeared. When I changed the
config to "Normal" in the General tab it automatically re-enabled the Mnyexpr
entry, and after a re-boot I was back where I started.

So it seems System Config wants to have that entry enabled for some reason.

You should've stayed in MSconfig Diagnostic mode. The whole idea was to
run without Mnyexpr.

I'm having the same problem but I don't have MoneyExpert or anything like
