Xp hangs at drvmain.sdb

When I boot my Xp machine it displays the option to boot to safe mode, Safe
Mode with Networking, Last Known Good Configuration etc... when I select any
of the option Xp hangs at drvmain.sdb.

I have booted into repair console and did chkdsk to check for disk error.
Chkdsk ran OK however when I restart my pc the cycle repeats. Does anyone
know how to resolve this problem?

Thanks for responding... I already checked most of the links before posting
here. None helped... I double checked again after your post... still none
helped. I have, as last resort, reinstalled windows from scratch. The PC
works OK now. Seems this is a common issue.. I would like to know the right
solution to this problem without having to having to reinstall windows...
incase this happens again. Thanks for your help!

Most welcome and sorry for the delay in response. We were here dodging
hurricane Gustav and Ike - it didn't work.
