Two DCs run Windows Server 2003. XP clients cannot resolve a host name of a
file server which runs Windows Server 2000. I can PING that Windows 2000
server without any problem. Resolving host names of the DCs are normal.

What could have been the cause of the problem that I'm having. It used to
work before and I have confirmed the problem is not related to Windows
Updates.

Re: Resolving host name

Hello Henry,

Is the 2000 server domain member or standalone? Is it listed in the zones
of the DNS servers? Please post an unedited ipconfig /all from the DC's and
the 2000 server, additional from one XP.

Best regards
