Every time I try to access an access database file through terminal server
with a regular user I get the following message: "Windows can not access the
specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions
to access the item." If I logon with account administrator I can access the
database. If I place the user in the administrator group I can access the
database but i do not want to do that. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: error accessing

Check this FAQ:

When users start a program, they get a "file download" dialog box, or
an error message: "Windows cannot access the specified device, path,
or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the
item."

Re: error accessing

I tried everything suggested to avail. Not sure what else to try. Since we
are on the TS subject, I have another user that can't print to the local
printer when a session is established. I have tried from deleting the local
printer and reinstalling to deleting and reinstalling the driver on the
server side. I can see the jobs on the printer but they just stay there...no
error. Any thoughts?

Re: error accessing

About IEES: run gpresult to see why the GPO setting is not applied.

About the printer: this problem is typical for a printer driver
which is incompatibel with TS. Uninstall the driver from the
server, as it might crash your spooler or server, and map the
printer to a native driver using this article:

239088 - Windows 2000 or Windows Server 2003 Terminal Services
server logs events 1111, 1105, and 1106

Re: error accessing

what type of value am I creating? Stream, multistream, binary? Also, do you
have something that explain the .inf file? ie:what exactly is
Signature="$CHICAGO$" under the [Version] and if whats under [Printers] is
exactly what goes there.

Re: error accessing

As the article mentions, you have to create two REG_SZ values.
It also explains exactly what goes where:

The left side of the "=" is the exact name of the printer driver
associated with the client-side print queue that is being
redirected to the server. The right side of the '=' is the exact
name of the server-side driver equivalent that is installed on the
Terminal Server.

No, I don't have any more information about the .inf file.

Re: error accessing

Excuse my ignorance but i never edit registries. when I right click on the
rdpwd as the article says, I get options like stream, multistream binary
values etc. I am not sure which to choose.

Re: error accessing

OK, I see. The English name for REG_SZ (which is used in the menu)
is String Value.
If you are not using an English version of Windows, you can check
this article in you own language to get the local name:
