XP Pro X64 & Shuttle PN18G Wireless LAN Kit

Installed the PN18, and have been unable to get it to work on a
Shuttle ST20G5 XPC running XP x64sp2. I had pulled down 64 bit
drivers for this a few months back from the shuttle site, and
they installed without any problems. My router sees the PN18
MAC Addee, but the PN18 doesn't see the router. Router is less
than 4 feet away, so signal isn't an issue. Anyone else had
experience(s) with the PN18, would like to hear what you did to get it
to work.

Just a quick addition - I have no way of setting the channel that
the PN18 should be transmitting/receiving on. In my ethernet
travels of past, I remember seeing somewhere that the PN18
was made by Zyxel. If so, I wouldn't know which set of drivers
to pull from their site. Or, maybe the drivers are fine, it's just
that I need some kind of application that will let me manipulate
the PN18, and this could be my problem?

You need to check with Shuttle Tech Support about your
problem. Their web site does not state this item is
supported in Windows x64.

Not sure if the EU site is different from the NA site, as the
NA site has x64 drivers fo the PN18.

Your best bet is to contact Shuttle Tech Support.

You're referring to a non-Microsoft 3rd party piece of
hardware and their supporting software drivers.

OK latest update & fix. Shuttle tech service was a no go because I
couldn't connect to the site to get the address. So, not one to give
up easily, I installed the software that came with the NIC. Tried the
vista, nada. Then ran the XP(32) version, and it loaded with minor
errors. I also installed seperately through Add new hardware, the
32bit drivers for the PN18. Then through explorer,I drummed down to
where the utility for the NIC is installed, highlighted each .exe file
individually, went to properties, compatability, and selected Windows
XP. Presto, the program pop'd up, made some changes in the encryption,
dissabled the cat-5 connection, and I'm successfully typing this reply
using the PN18!

Update: After a day, my pc would lock up. A few lockups later,
I updated the 32bit drivers with 64bit, and still using the 32bit
utility. After 24 hours, all is well, and no lockups.

You stated Saturday that you had everything running in XP
32-bit. Now you're stating you updated the 32-bit drivers
to 64-bit drivers. I'm afraid you are tee totally confused!
You cannot run 32-bit drivers in XP 64-bit, nor can you
run 64-bit drivers in XP 32-bit!

64-bit Windows (ALL) require 64-bit drivers and 32-bit
drivers will not work!

32-bit Windows (NT & up) require 32-bit drivers and 64-bit
drivers will not even load!

So, all that said, what exactly do you have installed on
your system?
