Dear NG,

ich have copied some files to the new Windows 2008 Server and now I
couldn`t delete a folder, Windows said, that a process is using this
folder. There are no files inside and i have tried with unlocker and
change the rights of the folder, trying to delete with the commandline
- no result. How could I see, wich prozess is using this folder? And
how can i delete it - thx for any idea!

Here are a few options:
- Reboot the server in Safe Mode, then delete the folder.
- Reboot the server into Recovery Console mode, then delete the folder.
- Reboot the server with your Bart PE boot CD, then delete the folder.

I consider that a Bart PE boot CD is a indispensible tool for a
system administrator.

You can try and identify the process that has locked the file. Here
are a few commands that might tell you:
net session
net file
handle.exe (www.SysInternals.com)
oh.exe
(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...7A-83B2-4FB1-9B6A-DE8D28F72329&displaylang=en)
(requires a reboot after installation . . .)
openfiles.exe
compmgmt.msc" / Shared Folders / Open Files
fsmgmt.msc

Re: Couldn't delete Folder at Windows 2008 Server

Okay - with ProcessExplorer I could identify, that SYSTEM was using
the folder - so I have killed the process and see - I could delete the
folder.
