On Windows 2003 sp 2 server.

1. how to do that on a local server? We use KVM switch. Can I do it via
RDP connection? Or need to connect a keyboard? I heard there is a hotfix
for usb keyboard for this? Is it before for sp1 or sp2?

2. I heard there is a sequence of key stoke. What is it? And I also heard
there is a 3rd party tool will do that for you.

Thanks.

Try this:
[HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\i8042prt\Parameters]
"CrashOnCtrlScroll"=dword:00000001
Once you've added this value, restart the PC, then test it by holding
down the right-hand Ctrl key and pressing the ScrLk key twice.

Re: how to manually trigger a full memory dump

another question. If I set such registry at the remote server which is
connected a IP KVM can I trigger the dump with the same key strokes using
RDP connection?

Re: how to manually trigger a full memory dump

Don't know - you'd have to try this for yourself.
