I had some issues setting up my Trendnet TE100-P21
three port print server with my home network on vista
PC's.
This is how it is done:
Control Panel Printers
Add Printer
Local Printer
Create a new port
Standard TCP/IP Port
Under hostname/IP address of the printer, enter the IP
address of the printer server (192.168.xx.xx) that you
entered when you set the print server up on your
network. This will be reflected in the line below
(Port Name). Click next. After a few seconds you will
see a dialog box for additional port information.
Select custom and click settings
Now you need to know the port name used by your server.
Mine was PS-71936B-U1 (first usb port). If your using
the second usb port it will be -U2 and if your using
the parallel port it will be -P3.
Change the protocol to LPR (instead of RAW)
Enter the PS-XXXXXX port name in the Queue name box and
click OK
This will take you at last to the printer driver setup
menu.
This fixed the problem of the printer going offline
when you reboot.
