adding W2k8 terminal server to sbs2k3 domain

Current situation:
SBS2k3 domain, 5 users inhouse running a server based database.
Future situation requires 5 users in-house plus 5-10 users in-field.
Please let me know if I am on the right (best and economical) path with this
scenario:
New Windows Server 2008 5 user (+ 5 later if/when reqd)
New Terminal Services Lic 5 user (+ 5 later if/when reqd)
Continue to serve db on SBS2k3 to in-house users
and in-field users through new TS (W2k8) server to sbs2k3.
I believe RemoteApp will be a winner for us.
Do we need 5 additional licences for the SBS2k3?

Any suggestions would be greatley appreciated!

I believe you will need SBS licenses if authenticating against the SBS Active
Directory, or using any file, print or application services from the SBS.

Check with your MSFT Licensing Specialist to be certain.

Thanks, that's what I thought, but what do you think about the overall
senario? Is that the route you would take?

If I'm reading your original post, I think you sound good. You want to
deliver a application to remote users wihtout giving them a desktop correct?
The frontend application to the database will run on the terminal server.
Sounds good to me.

Tom,

I just ran into the same situation where I have 10 in-house users and need
to have 10 field users.

I contacted Microsoft Pre-Sales team to get directed to the right part
number and the answer was DEVASTATING: YOU CANNOT HAVE TERMINAL SERVICES ON A
SMALL BUSINESS SERVER 2003. Only the two native accesses are permited.

The solution is add a STANDARD SERVER 2003 and make it the terminal services
manager; thus adding the additional licences on THIS server.

It was a gigantic blow to my face since I assumed that the SBS2003Premium
Edition DID HAVE the 10 Terminal Services licenses built-in.
