Good day,
I'm using a Dell Inspirion E1505 with Windows XP Media Center 2005 installed
on it. After a number of viruses and trojans attacked my system, I decided to
repair it using the CD that came with the system. However, during the repair,
I got the following error messages:
- shmgrate.exe: The procedure entry point Get RequestedRuntimeVersion could
not be located in the dynamic link library WININET.dll
- ngen.exe: The procedure entry point InternetGetSecurityInfoByURLW could
not be located in the dynamic link library mscoree.dll
- .NET Framework Initialization Error:
C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\mscorwks.dll could not be loaded
Now each time I boot the system, I get the blue screen of death with the
following error message: STOP: 0x0000007B (0x179E0524, 0xC00000034,
0x00000000, 0X00000000)

I didn't want to lose my programs or my files so I decided to save my file
by doing a temporary parallel installation to retrieve my files. But after
the second installation, I couldn't find any of my documents. I'm so confused
because the hard disk space indicates that they are there but I've tried
windows and Dos search.

Please help.

"Access is Denied" error message when you try to open a folder
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/810881

You can use CACLS (example with SVI)

Re: Error after Repair

Hi,
i'm sorry but I don't know what CALCS is and as for your first suggestion, i
can't even find the original My Documents for the first installation so I
don't have an access denied problem.
Thanks

Re: Error after Repair

perhaps it was not
a virus causing your
system grief, but a
physical problem
with hardware or a
driver- thus your
present predicament.

Re: Error after Repair

I've been able to find and retrieve my files thanks to help from other
forums. Thank you. I want to attempt the solve the initial problem which is
repairing the first OS i. e. the one with the error. Any suggestions?

Re: Error after Repair

Hi,
I've been to Dell support website but it was not helpful. I get to a point
where I am asked to go to my BIOS and access the option DRIVES and then
OPERATIONs. But I don't have this option. And I checked their forum. This is
not a problem of my system. Other owners of my model have had the same
complaint. So we cannot use the troubleshooter past that level.
Thanks
