We've a very strange problem in one of our server, i.e. NIC ordering in
windows 2003 server always got changed automatically when we reboot the
server.
We want the NIC to be in one particular order for our application to work.
Id set the order by doing the following but still it chages on the reboot
How to change the binding order of network adapters
1. Click Start, click Run, type ncpa.cpl , and then click OK.
You can see the available connections in the LAN and High-Speed
Internet section of the Network Connections window.
2. On the Advanced menu, click Advanced Settings, and then click the
Adapters and Bindings tab.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/894564 : Talks about metric but metric is
not exactly related to NIC biding order.
Any idea what are the other factors could affect the NIC ordering?
HKLM/system/currentcontrolset/services/tcpip/linkage/bind anything we'can do
in this registry key?
