How do you setup the folder permissions to NOT prompt for a
username/password, in a workgroup?

I have a folder that will contain shared, non-confidential files. I know
that if the username/password on the PC and the server match, you don't get
prompted. But some of the accounts here don't match, and I don't want to go
to the trouble of making the passwords match.

Is there a way to do this, when the usernames/passwords don't match, and I
don't get the login credentials prompt?

TIA

They have to match...

Or try giving permissions to the "Everyone Group"

I tried the Everyone group, but it still prompts for username/password

Re: WFW - Folder Permissions

On the server with a shared resource you may wish to enable guest account
and assign appropriate permissions to guests. You are of course aware that
this is lowering all security barriers.

Then you are stuck with the prompt or do as Dusko suggested.

Re: WFW - Folder Permissions

Yeah, I don't like the idea of using the guest account... so I'm going to go
back to making the accounts match.
Thanks.
