so the other night i was messing around with my friends laptop that has
vista on it, idk what kind of laptop or if its x64 or not, but im
guessing it is cause its like 3 months old. so i was messing around in
the network settings trying to change the router that it was hooked up
to. the next day he goes to turn it on and it just doesn't start, like
it brings you to that black screen like saying what way you want to
start it like in safe mode, CMD or like normally. EVERYONE of them you
press it takes you to like a loading system files screen, looks like the
matrix, idk how to describe it, then it loads like the screen but its
just gray and the mouse is there. im guessing like a system file was
corrupted or something, how can i fix this? windows vista repair disk?
i need to fix this VERY fast before its too late and his parents find
out.

please help!!!

I suspect your have neither the tools or the skills to repair this x-friends
laptop.
Take your savings and the laptop to a repair shop.
Also, do not use "text messaging" short hand in these news groups.
It makes your post hard to read.

Re: Windows wont start! please help!

about text messaging?

You screwed it up, you have to pay to have it fixed. That is life, get
used to it.
People who do a lot of text messaging use a lot abbreviations that show a
lack of English skills.

"2 much TxTing mks up 1 bad spar"

You can certainly f*** it up, THAT we know.

And if you don't know about your abbreviations - and poor
capitalization, etc. - then you're a moron.

Which you would still be even if you DID know.

This is your original message.
"so the other night i was messing around with my friends laptop that has

I need to fix this VERY fast before its too late and his parents find
out. "

You did not use normal capitalization for proper nouns or first word in a
sentence.
You used "idk" for "I don't know" and "irk" for ???
You used "EVERYONE of them" for "every one of them"
You used "im" for "I'm".

If you are in 4th grade, I would accept this, but I expect you are older
than that.
I would give you an F grade in English.

Now back to the problem. You will need some expensive software tools to fix
your screw up!
Pay a tech to do it and apologize the your friends parents.

Ok, you played with your friends laptop and now it will not boot. Bad
Luck.
Have you tried booting into safe mode?

Put the Vista DVD in the drive, reboot and try to reinstall Vista. Follow
the prompts.

So I guess booting from the DVD to see if you get anything is out of the
question? Better take your PC to Best Buy and have one of their very
educated geeks fix it for you.

Re: Windows wont start! please help!

If it is a laptop it will have a recovery partition, or at least
recovery disk. It may mean you will lose alotof his info but at least
it will not cost you anything. (tell his mum and dad).
