Hi,

virtual Windows Server 2003 Standard as Webserver:

the server cannot connect to the internet:
The servers IE cannot find any site (looking for proxysettings with no end),
even not http://localhost or http://127.0.0.1
(standard-website is running)
AntiVirus updater cannot update.
The eventlogs don't show any entries which could help.
ping is ok for Standardgateway and DNS Server.
Remote-Desktop connection is ok.
http and ftp connections from a external clients are ok.

If possible, I don't want to restart this virtual webserver.
Are there some services, which could be involved and could be restarted?
What could be the reason for this problem?

Thanks for your help.

Patrick

Re: Web-Server: Connectivity

Hello Patrick D.,

Please post an uneidted ipconfig /all from the web server and also the hosting
machine. Additional you should not use the loopback address 127.0.0.1 use
a private ip from your internal network.

Best regards

Re: Web-Server: Connectivity

Hi Meinolf

Thanks for your fast answer.
I didn't tell in my post, that I am "only" a customer of this virtual
server. I cannot access the host system. The virtualization technology is
based on Citrix Xen Server.
To see, if there is a problem on the host system, I already wrote a trouble
ticket to my hoster - now waiting for the answer.
Since I never posted all ip adresses in "plain text" before, first a
question to you:
Is there a way, to send you the data personally (for security reasons) ?
Thanks for your help.
