NOTE: One of the pointers is to turn off AERO, this is incorrect though, you
should disable most effects but not turn off aero if you have an accelerated
card, because then with classic the
drawing of the windows (unlike with XP that had GDI accelerated drawing of
all windows with all themes even classic) will have absolutely no
acceleration at all.
This may seem strange that on VISTA classic is actually slower than aero (as
long as you have an aero capable card), but hey they removed GDI
acceleration from vista that could work with all themes... what can you say?
Vista is stupid.

The advice you see all over the net telling people to switch to classic in
vista is WRONG, as long as you have an aero capable card you should minimize
the amount of effects used but DON'T turn aero glass off completely (thus
turning off all acceleration).

The "switch to classic" advice would apply only for those people who have no
aero capable card or vista BASIC.

Re: Twelve unnecessary Vista features to disable

Rather than just telling people to turn off features they should run some
benchmarks before and after. The majority of the changes they recommend will
have little or no performance effect on most systems. It's a typical "tech"
article from a magazine. There is very little of technical merit. It is
crafted to do well in search engines to maximize their advertising revenue.

That is mainly *BULLSHIT* advice! That is simply a click-for-cash
article that will in reality, do nothing except possibly cripple Vista.
You don't know what you are doing. Best you take your Vista hatred and
shove it up your ass along with your stupid inaccurate advice.
