Re: buy disposable contact lenses online2

So -

Are the paths forged?

Or are these posts originating from the Microsoft NNTP servers?

Posts originate from clients, not servers.

Let me rephrase that, because you apparently did not understand the
question.

Are they being posted to usenet via the Microsoft NNTP servers, or is
the path forged?

Lots of us post directly to the MS servers at msnews.microsoft.com,
that's the preferred way to get here. The spammer is no doubt doing
the same thing.

Re: spam from win98banter site?

98 Guy, the spam appear to be originating from this web-site and whether or
not win98banter is a pawn and being used as an illegal site from another site
to post unto this newsgroup is currently unknown. I will post back if I
discover anything else.

Thanks for your thoughts on this also, Tim.

I understood perfectly, it is you that asked the wrong
question.

I'm reading some spam as downloaded from the Microsoft
servers, so it is likely that you have read some that came
through them. The one referenced in your header did not
appear in my newsreader - but that doesn't mean it wasn't
on MS's servers previously at some point in time.

Re: buy disposable contact lenses online2

That is one of the advantages or disadvantages if you will of using the web
based interface like I do and the only reason I continue to do so is for Gary
S. Terhune's benefit so he can block me and because I have been a lier in the
past by posting using Art Wilder's computer and so I was not honest in
explaining that I am Dan W. <smile>

It's quite amazing what one can find on the 'net!

Here's a 'reminder' of your past, Dan! <smiling> no agro intended!

Re: buy disposable contact lenses online2

Thanks BD. I certainly got my just consequence with my identity being stolen
in September 2007 after the APS Network was hacked and I was linked via VPN
Networking. The interesting thing is the hacker(s)(?) broke through the
Albuquerque Public School Network and were probably just looking for
vulnerable computers and hacked into mine that was fully updated with Windows
Firewall enabled with no exceptions and with a LinkSys Router. My guess is
that it was former employees that had been fired from APS and were bitter. I
worked with Stephanie the Network Administrator at the elementary school to
fix the network. This was from September 2006-October 2007. I am just
thankful now that I am still alive and breathing. Art Wilder already knows
that I posted on his computer in Tucson, Arizona and all is now forgiven.
You do indeed reap what you sow at least in the end and fortunately it
happened to me sooner than later and I got my just consequences but I trust
that all will be taken care of in the end.

That was not the question.

The use of an NNTP client that connects to an NNTP server with good
peering is the preferred way to post to usenet.

The Microsoft NNTP server(s) are no better than most other NNTP servers
when it comes to posting and reading the microsoft hierarchy of groups.
The Microsoft NNTP server is arguably worse than others because (a) it
only carries the microsoft groups, (b) some censoring is performed, and
(c) spam filtering is either poor or non-existant.

> The spammer is no doubt doing the same thing.

If you mean that the spammer is posting through the microsoft servers,
that does not seem to be the case:

NNTP-Posting-Host: s15244360.onlinehome-server.info 87.106.71.77
------------

I could be wrong, but I don't think that real posts via the Microsoft
server(s) contain the "X-Originating-IP" line.

Most of these spams also have "msrtrans" in the path immediately after
the Microsoft servers. Anyone know who belongs to that machine?
