File Serving: Windows 2003 Storage Server or Windows 2008 server?

Currently we use a Windows 2003 Storage Server as our file server and this
has all our asp and files stored which is accessed from about 10 IIS6
machines using UNC share.
We are now upgrading to Windows 2008 IIS7 and wondered if it would be faster
if the file server was now moved to Windows 2008 as well to take adventage
of SMB 2.0

Is Windows 2008 server faster natively than the Windows 2003 Storage Server
in this type of environment for serving files?

That really depends on your client machines. Do they support SMB 2.0?
If they don't, you don't gain anything.

Yes like I said IIS7 Windows 2008 clients. Is SMB 2.0 going to be
significantly faster?
