printing in two printers simultaneously

Hi all,

For some burocratic reasons i'll have to put a few winXP machines printing
at two printers simultaneously, so that every print made will also create a
pdf file in a remote server...
so i allready have a virtual printer sending pdf files to the server and the
real printer configured on those machines, but now i need a hack to put
windows printing in bouth printers all printing jobs taken by the users,
and i don't know how to do this...

i imagined another virtual printer installed that forwards the job to other
printers, so that this new virtual printer would be the default one, and in
it's preferences i could set the two printers that will receive the jobs
(the real printer and the pdf creator).
do you know of any simple software that does this?

or, other ways to put windows xp printing in two printers simultaneously ?

Something like this, *IF* it's possible, would require special
software to manage or supplant the Spooler subsystem and such. I have
never heard of this being capable.

Are you just saying "it can't be done"?
this is not the reply i need :)

each printing doesn't need to go exactly the same time for bouth printers,
it can be first to one and then to the other, only this must be done with a
single print request by the user.

i've been thinking a script could do it (maybe), but i'm very poor on
scripting and have no ideia how to write a script to interact with
windows printing service...

i can't believe that, for reasons so absurd, i have to do something that
haven't been done before... and the worst thing is, i really need to do it.

Sure it can be done. You can setup a distiller service with Adobe and just
tell it to print after creating the pdf file. Or you can use the Net use
command to map two different printers to the same port.

You will have to use a third party product to do this, Windows operating
systems cannot do this natively. Do a search on the net for "broadcast
printing".

I believe it can be done for around $1,200US. Google "print queue manager".

$1,200 ???!!! It can be done with a $50 print driver.

Send the same job to several printers at the same time, which is not
possible with CUPS.

this is really a program that takes control of all printing services.

unfortunaly, i can't find anything like this to windows... crap!
