Hi.
I'm using MS Office Home and Student 2007 with XP SP3.
Sometimes, not always, when I close a Word doc I get the following error
pop-up.

"Microsoft Office Word has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are
sorry for the Inconvenience.
The information you were working on may be lost. Microsoft Office Word can
try to recover it for you."

"Recover my work and restart Microsoft Office Word."
"Send Error Report - Don't Send"
I select "Don't Send: and it then opens a blank Word doc.
Help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

It might be your installation of office 2007 has some corrupt files, try a
repair install of office 2007

Thanks for the responce. Will a repair install lose my preferences? And,
while we're on the subject, is there a way to backup my settings/preferences
in Office 2007? I recently had a crash, and it took me over an hour to
re-set my settings in Word and Excel.
Thanks again, I'll hold off on the re-install until I here from you.
Regards,
oldmanlat

No, it shouldn't.

You should really post these questions in an Office newsgroup for the best
results. It isn't an operating system issue. Good luck!

Here's help you should learn to appreciate: Ask in a group with WORD
or OFFICE in the title. Notice this group lacks those words.

Ask elsewhere

addressed demonstrates its acceptability.
