Hi,
I have in my organization two server:
one server IBM x206 with 4GB of RAM that works as Domain Controller, File
server
one server IBM x3400 with 4GB of RAM that works as SQL Server 2005 for 15
users and Backup Server, Antivirus server

I need to install Terminal server, and probably on the x206

How can i estabilished how many users can works in Terminal Server without
affecting too much network and system performance?

TIA

Re: How many users...

Hello testing,

You should never use a Domain controller as Terminal server from the security
view.

See here for capacity planning:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc786809.aspx

Also i would suggest to post this to:
microsoft.public.windows.terminal_services

Thank you Meinolf for your reply...
Ok, how you suggest to deploy this services (SQL 2005 Workgroup, Domain
Controller, File Server, Backup Server, Antivirus server, Terminal Server)
on the two server (x206 and x3400).
I've about 30 users on my network...

Re: How many users...

Hello testing,

A TS should only do it basic work nothing else, so think about another server.

I agree wholeheartedly. In the OP's environment they need at least three
servers.

Or even 4 (need a second DC)... Actually, I'd like to see:

- DC
- Second DC (Use a decent workstation for this, if necessary)
- SQL2005
- Terminal Server
- File/Backup/AV server

Plus the fact that installing TS after the fact is a big problem.....
