Most of the postings about this player on the web seem to be of the opinion
that it is at best spyware, or installs spyware/malware. From what you
describe it certainly acts like malware.
One posting I read claimed that the licence agreement states:
" the license agreement in the installer for play3w (yes, read those things
once in a while!), it actually plainly says that it installs an auto search
in your browser and creates pop ups, and changes your home page, and sends
info about the websites you visit to the developer"
That sure reads like spyware,adware and malware all rolled into one if it is
true. In any case you don't need the player so might as well get rid of it.
