Unusual corruption of Windows Update services on 2 unrelatedcomputers after an update.
Hi All!
I have been investigating a problem that made Vista complain of
Multiple Security issues. It told me that Windows Updates were not
activated (they were but got switched off by someting). On trying to
click FIX I get a message that "Security Cener can't change your
automatic updaing settings".
When I tried going into updates manually I get a partially loaded
Update Window dialogue.

No error codes are given.
As I was checking that problem I run Windows Update on a laptop at the
same location and when it had finished restarting a message came up
sayting that there are multiple security issues. When I looked at what
that was I got the same problem as I was looking at on the first
computer. It just has to be one of the updates that screwed it up. I
don't know how or why but I wonder if anyone has see this before and
knows how to fix it.
I tried the regsrv32 fixes plastered over the web but they did not
work. What I did notice however is that there some of the DLLs did not
register as they were missing. I run the SFC /SCANNOW and it found
some issues and said to have fixed them but still Updates wouldn't
work and DLLs would not appear.
